Author Topic: TSC Sonic Challenges (Read 56004 times)

I've looked around and saw a challenges thread, but it seems to have stopped in April, so I'm going to start them up again and run them. These will be challenges from all different games, and I'm going to start with Sonic Generations as I know that game well and can think of lots of challenges for it. Each challenge will last 2 weeks, and the five fastest people will receive the points. An overall leaderboard will be updated after each game.
The first challenge will start on Saturday October 6th at 00:00 GMT and last for 2 weeks. After that a challenge now starts on a Saturday, and Finishes on a Saturday (It finishes at Midnight On A Saturday But The challenge may be announced earlier than midnight). I will announce the challenge just before it starts. The aim is to complete the challenge as fast as possible. Here are how the points will be distributed:
1st â€“ 10 points
2nd â€“ 8 points
3rd â€“ 5 points
4th â€“ 3 points
5th â€“ 1 point
Bonus points may be awarded and the challenge will say so if thatâ€™s the case. Check back here when the challenge starts on Saturday to see what it is. You must post your time (no cheating or else you'll not be allowed to participate), if you want to post a Youtube link for extra proof feel free. If you want to post a link of a YouTube Video for your time you can do, but you don't have to. :P
Just to reiterate you DON'T need a video as proof. But you CAN if you want to.

Not to pick fault with the idea (because it's a good one and I enjoyed running it myself), but requiring a youtube video may exclude a fair few people who would otherwise enter. Recording, editing and uploading can be a big hassle to have to do for something "fun"!

OK Guys, This is the first challenge:

TSC Challenge 1
Name: Fire Jumper
Game: Sonic Generations
Level: Green Hill Act 1
Requirements: Equip the fire shield skill, then as soon as the level starts press Y/Triangle, to have the fire shield, then only jump (that means you can only press A for Xbox, and X for PS3) to complete the level. You have to complete the level without touching the analog stick or the D-pad. You aren't allowed to spindash. This took me about 10 minutes to do, and takes a little practice. Remember ONLY press the Jump button.

Although I'm not participating in this challenge (because I don't own Generations <_<), may I bring to your attention that, in case you have not realized, the YouTube video which you have posted a link to is private. Making it public would allow everyone to see it (unless you have intentionally made it private, in which case I beg your pardon).

Sorry SonicBoom737, I misinterpreted you, I assumed that the example video was a demonstration of the challenge and therefore was meant to be public. Anyway it's a cool challenge, I would participate if I had the game.

Requirements: Complete this level with the fastest time. For every ring you collect you add 1 second onto your time. You aren't allowed any skills for this challenge.
Notes: this challenge has been edited, because the original was really hard.

Actually the challenge is impossible because you cannot complete it without the last ring.The big one.

I've done 2:57:03 with 1 Ring, and then 2:41:00 with 5 Rings. In my opinion, avoiding Rings isn't that hard, except for two spots in the 2D temple section. The difficult thing is speed running it, since you have to maneuver around Rings at high speed and manage your limited boost.

that means your current best time is 2:46.00
